5 tips for the best home Halloween party

A frightening guide for your Halloween party

Halloween is almost upon us and it's time to plan the scariest and most unforgettable party of the year. Whether you're a Halloween pro or still undecided about your costume, we’d like to give you some essential tips to organize a fantastic Halloween party in the comfort of your own home. Prepare to delve into the world of “devilish” decorations and delights!

1. Decorate your home according to a theme

The first step to throwing an unforgettable Halloween party is choosing a theme: will it be a classic haunted house, a zombie lair, or a superhero showdown? Have fun giving your household furniture a makeover with decorations. Need ideas?

  • Jack-O'-Lanterns: carved pumpkins with spooky faces or intricate designs are a must-have to light up your hall and interiors;
  • Spooky spiderwebs: on the island base unit, on the cabinets and over the doors, spiderwebs evoke the true atmosphere of a haunted house;
  • Candles and candelabras: add a creepy touch by placing tall, flickering candles on the kitchen worktop and shelves;
  • Skeletons and demons: hang life-sized skeletons and monsters in unexpected spots to give everyone a fright;
  • Tombstones: create a fake graveyard in your garden with mini tombstones and other eerie props.

2. Serve frighteningly delicious food and drink

How about making a welcome cocktail for your guests? Offer an array of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, and serve them at the table with various snacks prepared for the occasion: gummy spiders, candied apples and cupcakes with icing will make an impression.

3. Choose the right soundtrack

What would a party be without music? Create a spooky playlist in advance to avoid any gaps between one tune and the next. To get everyone involved, we suggest mixing popular Halloween songs such as 'Thriller' and 'This Is Halloween' with other dance tunes.

4. Organize a costume contest

Do you want to know another infallible way to entertain guests? Encourage your guests to embrace the Halloween spirit by organizing a costume contest. You’ll obviously need to prepare prizes for the scariest, funniest and/or most creative costumes, setting up a catwalk between your sofa and your living room furniture.

5. Plan a horror movie marathon

Speaking of the living room, why not project horror movies on the wall? Let your guests choose from a selection of scary movies, so they can take a break from the dance floor or board games. Yes, because Halloween wouldn't be complete without a treasure hunt in the dark!
